Recipe of Bolo caserio (Homemade cake)

Here is a recipe for bolo caserio, a traditional Portuguese homemade cake:

Ingredients:

1 cup of sugar
1 cup of butter
4 eggs
1 cup of milk
3 cups of all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract


Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour and baking powder.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, until everything is well combined.
Stir in the vanilla extract.
Pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch cake pan.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve the bolo caserio warm or at room temperature, with a dusting of confectioners' sugar on top if desired. Enjoy!
