LG launches the affordable K7 and K10 in India, priced at Rs 9,500 and 13,500 respectively

"The K7 and K10 are the most affordable 4G-enabled phones in LG's lineup"

While we're waiting with bated breaths for the Korean brand LG to launch its loaded G5 (first impressions), the company has decided to kickstart the year in India with budget offerings. The K7

and K10 were unveiled during CES this year and are its first made-in-India smartphones.

While both smartphones come under LG's K range, they're quite different. While the LG K7 is a compact handset with a 5-inch display, the K10 is a phablet sporting a screen measuring 5.3-inches. They both get some premium design elements such as 2.5D glass at the front and shiny glass panels at the back. LG's trademark rear-mounted power toggle flanked by volume controls can also be found on the K7 and K10.

The K7's screen features a paltry resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, while the LG K10 bears slightly better HD resolution. Powering the show on the K7 is a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 running at 1.1GHz, coupled with 1.5GB RAM. In comparison, the K10 is more powerful thanks to the 1.14GHz octa-core chipset taking charge of the performance department, in association with 2 gigs of RAM. The K7 gets 8GB built-in storage, while the K10 gets twice that... the storage on both phones can be increased further via microSD cards. While we're seeing more and more phones coming with the latest iteration of Android, LG is offering almost an year and a half old Lollipop, layered with its custom skin.

The differences continue on the camera front as well - the LG K7 sports a 5MP pimary sensor, whereas the K10 flaunts a 13-meg camera. For selfies, both phones offer 5-megapixel shooters at the front. Interestingly, the phones get LED flash at the front as well, to assist in shooting in low-light environments. They also get various camera-centric features such as gesture shot, tap and shot, etc.

Both the K7 and K10 support 4G connectivity along VoLTE, as well as the usual options such as dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The K10 also gets support for NFC. The LG K7 sips juice from a 2,125mAh battery, whereas the K10 draws power from a 2,300mAh unit.

The K7 is priced at Rs 9,500, whereas its sibling, the K10 will cost Rs 13,500.
